Paul Daniels is without doubt one of the most accomplished
magicians in the World, and certainly one of the most
exciting. Add to that a unique comedy style and you have a
complete entertainer and one of the funniest men in show
business.
With a reputation as one of the most popular society and
show-business entertainers, Paul has entertained The Royal
Family including princes William and Harry, The Sultan of
Brunei, The Sultan of Oman, Prince Rainier of Monaco, Barry
White, John Major (Prime Minister), James Callaghan (Prime
Minister), Princess Michael of Kent, The Duke and Duchess of
Wessex, and countless others.
In the world of TV no-one has enjoyed more success than Paul
Daniels. From the moment he burst onto the ITV network, and
later switched to the BBC, his magic shows topped the
ratings. A recent book on TV facts calls him the most
successful TV magician of the 20th century. His creative
genius enabled him to produce consistently stunning shows,
never rivalled in spectacle, covering the full range of the
world of entertainment magic, from small, "close-up"
effects, to enormous outside broadcast illusions.
|
In 1983 Paul was presented with the prestigious 'Magician of
the Year' Award by the Hollywood Academy of Magical Arts
before a star-studded audience in Los Angeles. It was a
tremendous achievement for Paul, and he was the first
magician from outside the USA to receive the award.
In 1985 his exciting TV special, "Paul Daniel's Easter Magic
Show" was awarded the coveted Golden Rose of Montreaux Award
(European equivalent to an Emmy) by a distinguished panel of
judges at the International TV Festival in Switzerland. This
was followed immediately by the Variety Club of Great
Britain staging a special show business luncheon in Paul's
honour at the Dorchester Hotel in London, televised by the
BBC. Twenty years of primetime, top rated TV shows aired in
47 countries testifies to the widespread appeal and
entertainment value of Paul's performance style.
|
Paul Daniels has entertained many millions of people from
all walks of life both in this country and abroad. He
continues to enthral audiences of all ages with a unique
comedy style that never fails to impress, resulting in a
truly magical and memorable experience for all.
A group from the Ipswich Magical society recently went to
Paul's one man show in Halstead, which was a tremendous
evening. A full in-depth review of the show can be seen
here.
I think in recent times it is very likely that Paul Daniels
has influenced more people start a career in magic than any
other person.

Oz Pearlman has been dazzling audiences for the past 10
years. For many years he was best known as the Penguin Magic
demonstrator. He has released 3 card magic DVDs, Stealing
Pips, Born to Perform card magic, and WatchMagic, all of
which have become blockbusters selling thousands of copies
in over 35 countries. He is also an accomplished performer,
recently completing a 9-month run of his Off-Broadway show,
WatchMagic, where the NY Times hailed "even skeptical
viewers are won over". He is a real world performer with
extensive experience in close-up and stand-up magic in a
variety of venues, and has a true passion for teaching.
Oz Pearlman's lecture consists entirely of high-impact,
visual magic! Oz will perform some of his most treasured
routines and creations, and after he's done fooling you,
he'll teach them in great detail. The material will consist
of primarily card magic, with a mix of mentalism and magic
with everyday items. Not only will you learn the sleights
and moves that go into each routine, but the subtleties and
little touches that transform a trick into a miracle. There
is a variety of material covered in the lecture, and
something for magicians of all skill levels. The routines,
sleights, and flourishes range from beginner to advanced,
with an emphasis on direct, commercial magic that you will
USE. This is one lecture you can't afford to miss!

Marc Jacobs is equally known for his Mentalism and Singing,
two jobs that he really excels at. At the convention Marc
will be compering the evening show and I have no doubts that
he will make the whole evening go with a swing
